How to Import GameChanger Stats into Diamond Lineups
Your parents already score every game in GameChanger. That batting data is gold — but it sits trapped in GC, where it does nothing for your lineup decisions. Here's how to pull it into Diamond Lineups so it actually works for you.
Why Bother Importing GameChanger Stats?
GameChanger is great at one thing: capturing what happened in a game. Hits, walks, strikeouts, stolen bases — your team parent has been logging it all season. The problem is that the data stays in GameChanger. It doesn't help you decide who bats leadoff on Saturday, and it doesn't tell you which kid has quietly turned into your most reliable contact hitter.
When you import that data into Diamond Lineups, your real performance numbers start driving your lineups. DiamondAI builds batting orders and fielding rotations based on how your players have actually performed — not a guess, and not a gut feeling you'll have to defend to a parent later.
Does GameChanger Have an Export?
Yes. GameChanger doesn't offer a direct app-to-app connection (there's no public API), but if you're a Staff account on a baseball or softball team, you can export your full season stats as a CSV file. That CSV is the bridge — and Diamond Lineups reads it directly.
Note: only Staff accounts can export stats in GameChanger. If you're listed as a follower, ask your team admin to add you as Staff or to send you the export.
Step-by-Step: From GameChanger to Diamond Lineups
Step 1: Export your stats from GameChanger
On the web, sign in at web.gc.com and select your team, then open the Stats section and click Export Stats. In the app, select your team, go to the Stats tab, and scroll to the bottom to find Export Stats. You'll get a CSV file downloaded to your device.
Step 2: Open the importer in Diamond Lineups
In Diamond Lineups, go to your Roster and click the Import Stats button. Drop in the CSV you just downloaded. That's it — no column mapping headaches, no reformatting.
Step 3: Confirm the player matches
Diamond Lineups automatically matches the names from your GameChanger export to your roster — by full name, by jersey number, and even by close spelling for nicknames (so "Jackson" still finds "Jack"). Anything it isn't sure about, you fix with a quick dropdown. The whole review takes about thirty seconds.
Step 4: Let DiamondAI use the data
Check the box to estimate speed, contact, and power ratings from the imported stats, and DiamondAI immediately starts using real numbers when it builds your lineups. Import once at the start of the season, again at midseason, or after every tournament weekend — there's no penalty for importing often.
What Stats Come Across
Diamond Lineups reads the batting columns from your GameChanger export, including:
- Contact & production: at-bats, hits, singles, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, walks, and strikeouts.
- Speed: stolen bases and triples, which feed a speed estimate for leadoff and base-running decisions.
- Games played: so a kid's numbers are read in context, not penalized for a small sample.
Column names vary a little between GameChanger versions, so the importer recognizes common variations automatically and simply skips anything it doesn't need.
Keep Scoring in GameChanger — Coach in Diamond Lineups
You don't have to ask anyone to switch apps. If your league requires GameChanger for official scoring, that's fine — let your parents keep doing exactly what they're doing. The import simply puts that data to work on the coaching side, where it turns into fair, data-backed batting orders and rotations.
GameChanger import is a Pro feature in Diamond Lineups. If you're not on Pro yet, you can still build lineups and rotations for free — the import just unlocks the stats-powered DiamondAI experience.
